Playwright
Diana Small writes, directs, produces and performs for theater and film. She makes comedic work that explores the body, gods, death and change. Her episodic workplace comedy, Pope Smoke, is available to watch on YouTube. Good Day was selected for the Great Plains Conference PlayLabs, Kitchen Dog Theatre’s New Works Festival and was a finalist for the Play Penn Conference. Diana's play Oh, Thank You was developed at Berkeley Rep's The Ground Floor and premiered at the CAW in Santa Barbara. Her multimedia film/music/theater show Who Knows What You Are premiered at the CAW. Her play Mad & a Goat was developed in Austin, TX's Frontera Fest and has toured across the country. Diana is a Company Member of Salvage Vanguard Theater (SVT) in Austin, TX where she served as an interim co-Artistic Director, directing SVT's productions of Tryouts and Antigonick. Diana works with paper chairs theatre company in Austin having directed Elizabeth Doss's play Mast and performing/dramaturging Doss's plays Poor Herman, Catalina and The Divine Narcissus. paper chairs shared the world-premiere of Diana's play Hot Belly with The Syndicate in NYC (The Tank).
